Zoom: Upcoming Security Requirements for All Meetings

Zoom plans to implement a new security requirement soon. All meetings must have a passcode or waiting room. OIT expects Zoom to implement the changes over Duke's winter break. The requirement applies to meetings, including those that use your Personal Meeting ID.

For a meeting you've already scheduled that does not have a passcode, Zoom will automatically enable the waiting room (learn more about the waiting room). You can edit upcoming meetings to enable passcodes instead.
For new meetings, OIT recommends users enable passcodes or a waiting room now, before the security features are required.

See instructions for changing your security settings in anticipation of the upcoming changes, as well as how to secure your Personal Meeting ID.
To assist users with updating their settings and other questions, OIT will hold online information sessions from 2pm - 3pm on December 3, 10, and 17 and on January 7 and 14.
