Makan Delrahim is the outgoing Assistant Attorney General for the Antitrust Division at the Department of Justice. On January 19, his last day in office, he will give a final address to reflect on his tenure and shine a spotlight on what needs to be done in the field of antitrust moving forward. As one of the world's most important enforcers at a moment of dramatic change in the antitrust field, Mr. Delrahim witnessed great shifts in attitudes about the Big Tech firms and opened the Department's review of those platforms, he also led the first revision of the Vertical Merger Guidelines in 36 years and secured important, industry-shaping consent-decrees in the Bayer/Monsanto and Sprint/T-Mobile mergers, among many others.
