Experience Virtual Reality for Yourself!

What is virtual reality? "Virtual Reality (VR), sometimes referred to as immersive multimedia, is a computer-simulated environment that can simulate physical presence in places in the real world or imagined worlds." (wikipedia.com) Have you been wondering what VR is? Tried something with a huge headset years ago but don't know what's going on with the technology now? Just want to try a technology that will make you gasp with amazement??? We will have an Oculus Rift and a cardboard kit from Unofficial Cardboard that works with a cell phone and an app so that you can experience a couple of the current technologies used for VR. Note that the hour after this opportunity to explore will be a discussion about what role (if any!) VR can or should play in teaching and learning at Duke. You can register to win one of the cardboard kits at the discussion or the demo period. This meeting is offered by the Duke Digital Initiative (DDI).
