China’s Evolving Innovation Trajectory: From Tech Laggard to Tech Powerhouse

Over the last few years, impressions regarding China's technology capabilities have shifted in a dramatic fashion. As recently as 3-4 years ago, China was seen as a technological laggard, far behind the West in most major categories. The Chinese S&T system faced numerous problems regarding inefficient funding allocation, ineffective use of talent, and mismanagement of intellectual property. There seemed to be an ample cushion between China and the West insofar as the dynamics of global competition were concerned.

Announcing the Winners of the Triangle Impact Challenge 2021: FlyRDU

Airline travel has taken a huge hit from the coronavirus shutdown, yet it has always been a vital part of the global and regional economy.

Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is already helping passengers fly with confidence by increasing its cleaning and disinfecting practices, requiring that masks be worn in the airport, encouraging physical distancing and using touchless technology. Now RDU wants to identify additional ways to make air travel safe and welcoming by tapping into the talents of local universities and research institutes.

Undergraduate Student Research Poster Competition

A virtual poster showcase for undergraduate students to present their research findings through an oral presentation and visual poster display. Prizes will be given to the first, second, and third place winners.
