Are you a Duke student interested in science policy? Do you want to improve your science communication skills? Duke SciPol -- a comprehensive resource for scientists, policymakers, students, and other stakeholders on developments in science and technology policy -- is looking for students to join the SciPol Writers Studio. We will be discussing opportunities to write about Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Nanoscience, and Energy Policy. Lunch will be provided.

This is an opportunity to learn about how the I&E Certificate will help you enhance your major, build your skill set, and set yourself apart. Our certificate ambassadors are two I&E seniors who can tell you about their experiences with the certificate program, including internships with start-ups, Melissa & Doug Entrepreneurs, and Duke in Silicon Valley.

OIT Learn IT @ Lunch - Qualtrics Tips & Tricks 

Many of us know the basics of creating surveys and online forms using Qualtrics, but there's so much more that you can do including customizing the design, using folders for survey organization, putting your survey behind Shib (Duke NetID) login and collaborating with others at Duke and beyond. This session will show you these cool tricks within Qualtrics and more...including some tips for building effective surveys and thoughts about how platform (phone, tablet, computer) affect user experience and data collection.

OIT Learn IT @ Lunch - Wearable healthcare devices and your health

This presentation will discuss the use of wearable health devices for personal health and healthcare delivery. We will discuss the current landscape of wearable health devices from a consumer standpoint and how they will soon be integrated into the Duke Health System and beyond. Learn IT @ Lunch is designed to be an opportunity to learn about technology in a relaxed lunch environment. Each session includes a presentation followed by Q & A. No pre-registration is required. Seating is available on a first come, first served basis. NOTE: Lunch is not provided.

Duke Collaboratories Info Session

Considering a cross-disciplinary collaborative project? Attend a COLLABORATORIES INFO SESSION to learn more about the Together Duke Collaboratories initiative, a funding opportunity for interdisciplinary teams of faculty and students who are addressing major challenges in Energy and Water Resources; Race, Religion, and Citizenship; or Population Health.

Visible Thinking Symposium

On April 22nd, 2019 from 10-2pm in Penn Pavilion, Duke's annual Visible Thinking Symposium will be occurring. This event celebrates the achievements of undergraduate researchers and explores their original scholarship in the humanities, the natural sciences and engineering, and the social sciences. Visible Thinking is open to all Duke undergraduates. All students who receive support from the URS office are expected to present at Visible Thinking.
