Duke India Initiative Student Travel Grantees' Presentation

For 2018-19, the Duke India Initiative (DII) provided student travel grants to seven full-time graduate (Ph.D.) Duke students for scholarly activities related to India. The students used the travel grants for conference paper presentation, workshop attendance, field research etc. These grantees' projects reflect the Duke India Initiative's commitment to promoting and intensifying collaborations within Duke and amongst Duke and partners across India.

2019 Duke STEAM Forum

The 2019 Duke STEAM Forum is a chance for all of us to take a deep dive into what Duke means when Duke does STEAM.

STEAM refers to the intertwining of science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics. Using these different perspectives enhances our understanding of the world around us and helps us solve problems in unique ways. Across Duke's campus there are many people using or interested in using STEAM in their work. This is a chance for us to come together and learn from one another.

QueerXscape reflects on the present from a queer collaborative perspective through a series of landscapes in mixed-media collage and video. The installation presents viewers with collaged landscape vistas and video that bring together queer camp with an environmental uncanny: familiar terrain interspersed with remnants of contemporary glass-walled urban architecture, unruly bodies, broken statuary, random trinkets, flowers, and food.
