At Duke University, IT services and support are provided by various groups of IT professionals with a single goal in mind. To provide the highest quality and sustainable information technology services in support of Duke's academic and research missions.
Duke is a large, diverse organization and information technology services are provided by a number of centralized and distributed IT organizations.
- Central IT organizations work with key campus constituents to develop IT strategic planning; provide applications and services ranging from e-mail to wireless connectivity to server hosting; support departments and individuals with help via the central IT service desk, online self-help and training; and supply a communications infrastructure to support advanced network, voice and web services.
- Decentralized IT units are designed to meet needs at the individual departmental level. We recommend you contact your local IT support person to ensure you are using the right tools for your department and work.
