TechExpo 2017 10 Year Anniversary

TechExpo X – Like your high school reunion, only less awkward

Where were you 10 years ago? Were you a seasoned IT staff member shuffling the halls looking to connect with colleagues? Were you a freshman in technology looking for a good coach? Were you using a flip phone in the bathroom while using the hall pass? Tech Expo was there. 10 years ago, a dedicated group of cool kids envisioned a gathering of Duke IT staff to foster professionalism, share expertise and look into the future. Like a high school reunion where you come back to prove you made it in the world, Tech Expo X peeks into the last 10 years and launches you forward. Show your stuff with presentations, panel discussions, learning labs and information tables. You’re bound to run into old friends, just like your high school reunion, only less awkward.

Parking Information for TechExpo X

Please remember that only those holding special passes will be able to park in the lots at the Washington Duke this year. (Those holding handicapped parking permits will use spaces marked for these permits.)

We have plenty of free parking available at the Science Drive Parking Garage. This garage is located across the street from Washington Duke Inn. We’ll also have a back-and-forth shuttle available from the parking garage to Washington Duke.

April 7th is the 10th ever Duke TechExpo

April 7 marks the 10th ever Duke TechExpo, and we're inviting you to get in on the show. If you've got an old TechExpo shirt stuffed in a drawer somewhere—or maybe you're one of those folks who give the shirts to their kids to use as nightgowns, in which case, they're in your kids' drawers somewhere—dig it out, put it on, take a selfie, and send it to Box. We'll put all the photos in a slide show for display during the lunch hour.

THIS is the deadline for proposals for the 10th ever TechExpo

Yes, in honor of Groundhog Day, we’re sending you, once again, a reminder that the call for proposals closes this evening. You know you want to be on stage for the tenth ever TechExpo, so get to work on those proposals for presentations, panel discussions, learning labs and information tables, and get them submitted by midnight tonight!

Jump over to the Qualtrics proposal submission form to get in the game.

I got you, Babe.

Time is running out for your TechExpo proposal!

You've had ten years to submit that proposal for a TechExpo talk, but now you have only two weeks!

You know you want to be on stage for the tenth ever TechExpo. The deadline is fast approaching, though, and you no longer have Christmas, Chanukah, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, the day after New Year's Day holiday, Twelfth Night (we put this here for the Shakespeare fans), Balloon Ascension Day (this is apparently a thing in the United States), Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday, or even ice storms as excuses for why you haven't submitted that proposal yet.

People of ITLand!

The 10th Duke TechExpo will be on Friday, April 7, at the Washington Duke Inn.

You won’t want to miss it, so mark your calendars for this one-day conference of Duke IT people, by Duke IT people, and for Duke IT people. It’s the best opportunity you have all year to learn about the amazing stuff happening in IT at Duke, to brush up on your skills, and to connect with friends and colleagues across the university and health system.
